Animal License Requirements & CostPer Glenn County Code, all dogs over the age of 4 months are required to be licensed by our office. (Cats are NOT required to be licensed in our county.)  Licenses will be issued upon receipt of a current rabies vaccination certificate and the licensing fee.  Please note that first year licenses (for puppies or dogs with no previous vaccination history) are only issued as a one year license.  All other licenses, except stock/hunt pack and kennel licenses, may be issued as either one or three year licenses.  License fees are as follows: [3]
Availability · Stock/hunt pack licenses — direct Sheriff office only
*Stock and Hunt Pack Licenses are not available through DocuPet online. The Pack Licenses are only available directly through Glenn County Sheriff's Office. Call for more information 530-934-6441. [4]
Glenn impound & shelter referral — Tehama Animal Care Center (opens in a new tab)[9]Official instructions

Glenn County’s own Animal Control page directs owners of county-impounded animals to Tehama Animal Care Center. Glenn’s dispatch, licence issuance and impound referral have different purposes. Confirm the animal’s location, admission/reclaim process and current fees before travelling; no Glenn-owned shelter is invented.

Before you start

Availability · Glenn County’s published Tehama referral: feral cats excluded; domestic-cat intake is conditional on space
The county says feral cats will not be impounded and domestic cats are taken only when space is available. Contact Tehama Animal Care Center before transport. [10]
