Official public library system associated with Shasta County for browsing. Independent city library systems may also serve the county. Membership rules, branch service areas and every address in the county are not implied by this association.
Read this library system’s own card instructions. Online registration, physical-card activation, residence and youth requirements may differ; use the quoted local conditions below where provided.
Before you start
- Information & documents · Branch verification and minors
- Stop by one of our Library branches to confirm your identification and residency. Minors under 18 must appear with their parent or legal guardian. [4]
- Information & documents · Photo identification
- Photo Identification — this includes a Driver’s License, Identification Card, Passport, Military ID, etc. [5]
- Information & documents · Permanent address proof
- Proof of current permanent address — this includes a current post marked piece of mail, utility bill, or car registration with applicant’s name and address. [6]
- Information & documents · Under18 guardian signature and account good-standing/lost-card rules; replacement amount not published
- Applicants under 18 years of age must have a legal guardian’s signature. Your library card gives you access to all library materials and resources, regardless of age designation, as long as your account remains in good standing. An account is considered in good standing when fines and fees total less than $20. Please notify the library if your card is lost or stolen. Replacement card fees may apply. Borrowers are responsible for any late, lost, or damaged materials checked out on their account. Library privileges may be suspended or revoked for failure to comply with library policies and rules. [7]
Choose the actual provider’s named branch and confirm its posted opening/contact arrangements before travel. Membership and special-card eligibility remain subject to the separate card rules; directory status widgets are not a CountyWiki live-opening guarantee.
