Before you start

  • For a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 and follow instructions from local public safety officials.
  • Register for local alerts where you live, work or regularly spend time. Keep your contact methods and registered addresses current, including after a programme changes platforms.
  • Choose a county to find registration guidance and official evacuation tools. Check the official live sources for current conditions, warnings and orders.
  • Local subscriptions, Wireless Emergency Alerts and earthquake warnings work differently. Check device settings and use more than one official information channel.
  • Look for current access notices and assistance options. Registration requirements, language options and support contacts vary by programme.
